Anywhere you are in Old Town, you’re likely to see a mural. The City of Beaverton has a special program, called the Art Lives Grants, operated in coordination with the Beaverton Arts Commission, to approve and support of murals throughout city limits.
It may be us — working and driving past them each day — but it seems Old Town has more murals than you’ll find anywhere else in Beaverton, and that’s great for visitors to the district!
Some of the murals show signs of age, pre-dating Restaurant Row for sure, but they’re all still there, bold and colorful and a proud reminder of the importance of art, and the local artists making these large-scale works.
Some murals are abstract, others depict lifelike imagery, but all of them have been made for your enjoyment, and the beautification of our City as a whole.
The next time you visit Old Town, bring your phone or camera and have them ready to snap a picture of your favorite mural. Better yet, share it with your friends, post it on your social feed, and help spread the word that our district is a great place to create your own mural scavenger hunt!
