Some of you know that prior to Syndicate, Angela and I ran a local web hosting and design agency, something I had founded in 2002 when I also created OregonWines.com, a blog and resource for everything about the Oregon wine industry. That website is no more, but it laid the foundations for what would become my passion for the wine industry.
In what may come as a surprise, this past week Angela and I ripped off that old web design bandage and got back into it, building a local online resource and service similar in scope to what I’d done with the wine industry so many years ago!
This time, the focus is on Old Town Beaverton. Our concerns about and advocacy for our district is well documented, and we realized it was time to step up and do something about it.
We love our community: Its residents, our neighboring businesses and organizations, and everyone that make it unique and so very special. So, in collaboration with some of our neighboring businesses, we began compiling a free, comprehensive service to unite our district.
As an online service and social media channel, OldTownBeaverton.com is designed to grow awareness about everyone in our district, and help bring in visitors from surrounding communities that don’t know about it, how to find it, or even simple things like where to park once they get here.
A detailed directory of every brick and mortar business, nonprofit, organization, and public service is still underway. It is shocking to learn just how many listings we’ve added, but there’s hundreds more to go. We envision everyone in the community being able to list their business or organization, maintain that listing, add information and images as they wish, and of course, to load up a collective calendar of events!
Speaking with another business owner last night, I shared the sentiment that if this service helps bring in even 20 or 30 new customers for their brand in a month, he agreed it would “Be a huge benefit to us all”. Our hope is just that. We want this service to benefit everyone in our district, and make it a shining example for the Westside and beyond of what a unified community looks like!
We’re running a spam-free email newsletter, which you can sign up for here:

We are also running a new Instagram account, at:

We invite you to use this website, connect with us via the newsletter and Instagram account, and spread the word about this new and free resource! And please remember, the website is just one week old, so there’s bound to be things we need to tighten up and add. We appreciate your interest and support!
