Historical Downtown Beaverton

Beaverton was founded in 1893 with a population of 400 residents.
The Beaverton Downtown Historic District comprises a primarily commercial and civic portion of downtown Beaverton, Oregon, United States. Beaverton’s historic commercial core remains largely intact along the street pattern from the city’s earliest plats. Significant buildings include a handful from the city’s first decades (1868–1920) and a larger number from the period of profound transformation between the world wars (1920–1940). The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

About This Website
OldTownBeaverton.com was built to support every business in our district, and help grow awareness to our entire community.
Our goal is to equitably represent and assist in promotion and brand building for every business in Old Town Beaverton that wishes to participate.
There are many minds behind this service, with whom we have communicated over the years and shared ideas, whose ideas and contributions for content and functionality you now see in the focus of this website and social media platform.
For years, small businesses throughout our district have voiced local concerns about security, vandalism, public safety, seasonal slow-down, general awareness about the district, ways to attract new audiences, and so forth.
For years, these concerns have been addressed to local government and civic organizations. Many of us have testified at City Council, and many more have written in their concerns. As Old Town business owners, this website is the next step in our continued commitment to serving each other and our collective community, while our elected officials also work to address the issues as best they can.
OldTownBeaverton.com is not affiliated in any way with any government or civic organization, but the purpose of this service is not to replace the good work being done by our elected officials. Rather, the organizers of this website see this as a complementary contribution of the Old Town business community at large.
Together, we can all play a role in serving our community, solving shared concerns, and seeing lasting and sustainable growth for the benefit of all!
